It’s a dog’s life

It is being reported that, in times of adversity, children are more likely to turn to pets for comfort and solace, rather than to siblings. One hypothesis is that children may feel that their pets are not going to judge them.

Robert (7) said, “When Mummy and Daddy were splitting up, I was very sad and used to tell everything to my dog, Rex. It made me feel loads better.”

“Loser,” said Rex.
