A song for every occasion

I’ve just been on a Caribbean cruise. Having flown to Miami, I then transferred to Fort Lauderdale by coach. I was amused by the choice of music on the bus, especially “White Flag” by Dido.
For those of you unfamiliar with this ditty, the chorus begins with the line “I will go down with this ship…”

It makes you wonder what other tunes could feature in compilations by the same company.
The cruise background music could also include “My Heart Will Go On” (the theme from “Titanic”), and the early Bee Gees song “Sinking Ships”.
“Disco Inferno” (The Trammps), “Fire” (The Crazy World of Arthur Brown), “Burn” (Deep Purple) and Bowie’s “Ashes to Ashes” would feature in the Cremation selection.
For burials, there is Peter Gabriel’s “Digging in the Dirt” and Elvis Costello’s “Tramp the Dirt Down”. If you’re one of an elderly couple, you could choose to include the Coldplay song, “See You Soon”.
