That’s living, alright!

Chelsea FC, the English Premier League football club, has announced today that it has signed up to the living wage. This is a minimum of £9.15 per hour in London and £7.85 elsewhere, higher than the minimum wage payable by law. Well done them.
Two days ago, John Terry the Chelsea captain, bought a house for £4.35 million, significantly cheaper than his previous house that he sold for £16 million. He reportedly earns, or is paid, £170,000 each week. If he works for an average of 10 hours a day, for 6 days each week, he is on £2,833 per hour. Over 300 times the living wage.
I think it’s nice that Chelsea is getting some positive PR out of this. I’m sure they deserve it.
